Lord of the Wolfyn

by Jessica Andersen

For practical Reda Weston, nothing could explain how reading a sexy version of "Little Red Riding Hood" catapulted her into another realm—face-to-fang with the legendary wolf-creature who seduced women. A wolf who transformed into a dark, virile man….

Dayn cursed the Sorcerer that turned him wolfyn and damned him to a lonely fate. As a beast, he mated with women to gain strength. Strength he needed to rescue his royal parents. But as a man, he craved Reda’s heated, sizzling touch. With little time left, Dayn had to either embrace his wolf to save his kingdom…or fight it to save his woman.

About Prince Dayn — Hero in Lord of the Wolfyn

Once upon a time there was a brash young prince named Dayn. He was the second son of the king and queen of Elden—handsome and impulsive, he didn’t much like being told what to do, especially when it came to love. His elder brother would inherit the throne, so why should he have to marry a princess? He’d far rather ride out into the forests surrounding the castle, where he protected his people from the magical beasts that lurked in the shadows…little realizing that the greatest threat came not from the creatures, but from the evil sorcerer who lusted after Elden’s throne.

Then came that fateful morning: furious from clashing with his parents, Dayn galloped from the castle. And while he was hot on the trail of a huge gray wolfyn—one of the most feared of the forest creatures—the Blood Sorcerer attacked. As they lay dying, his parents combined their powers to send him to safety, little realizing how far he would travel…or that when he awoke in a strange and terrifying land, he wouldn’t be himself anymore. Instead, he has become a beast like the one he had been chasing—feared and reviled, yet gifted with dark and sensual mind powers. Tortured by memories of his family, he vows to return home, gain his revenge, and help restore the throne of Elden any way he can.

Inspiration for Lord of the Wolfyn

Are you afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? I’ll admit that I am…but I’m also fascinated by him. When I was a little kid it was one of my chores to take the scraps out to the compost bin way at the back of our property every night after dinner. Which was fine when the days were long and it was still light out. But as the seasons shifted and the dusk crept inward, it got scarier and scarier to go out there by myself with my little flashlight and my bucket of scraps. I could hear something following me in the woods, but I could never catch it in my flashlight beam. Was it a raccoon or, worse, an amber-eyed wolf come down from the mountains to the north in search of scraps…or a little girl? What would I do if it was?

I imagine Little Red in her riding hood felt the same way as she picked her way through the woods. She could feel something watching her, hear it keeping pace, but never managed to catch a glimpse. Then she reached her granny’s cabin, only to find a stranger in her grandmother’s place. But…and here’s the romance lover in me…I’ve always wondered what would happen if, instead of finding a terrifying creature who tries to kill her, Little Red discovers a ruggedly handsome, compelling stranger? I was dying to know the answer…and thus was born the story of an ex-cop named Reda, a magical stranger who is far more than he seems, a cabin in the woods, and a romance that left me wanting a Big Bad Wolf of my own.
