We’re kicking of the blog tour for Amalie Howard’s mermaid YA novel, Waterfell! Today Amalie shares some of her favorite romantic quotes from the book — and keep reading for a giveaway of the book!

by Amalie Howard, author of Waterfell (Book of The Aquarathi, Harlequin TEEN, on sale October 29, 2013)

Here are a few of my favorite romantic WATERFELL quotes!

I make myself look up, keeping my expression nonchalant. But Lo makes no such effort. He’s staring at me with a look of blatant appreciation on his face, and this time I can’t stop the blush that rises like an answering tide through me, nor the feeling of complete dissolution taking hold of my body. I know one thing’s for certain—it’s not the butterflies I need to be worried about.

“Hey,” Lo says.

“What are you doing here?”

“You’re here. So I’m here, too.” His words could incinerate ice, far less a girl with a definite non-icy heart. I’m hanging on by a thread not to be a puddle on the floor.

“Oh.” It’s the only word I can translate from my brain to my mouth. Everything else is gibberish. “But you don’t work today.”

“No, but you do.” And … puddle.

At the last minute before his lips touch mine, his eyes flutter close. The kiss is a shock of images and smells and feelings, hitting me all at once—my home, my friends, the ocean, the land, beauty, chaos, life and this strange, infuriating, lovely boy. Everything about him flashes into me, and then there’s nothing else but Lo.

Amid danger and the heartbreak of her missing mother, falling for a human boy is the last thing Nerissa should do. But Lo Seavon breaches her defenses and somehow becomes the only person she can count on to help her desperate search for her mother, a prisoner of Nerissa’s mortal enemy. The last quote about her becoming a puddle was absolutely hilarious.

“No but you do. And… Puddle”

That is some serious stuff if that’s all he had to say to turn her into a puddle. But it happens and not just in books.
