Giveaway: Win Mara Purnhagen’s Past Midnight Trilogy from Harlequin TEEN!

by Amy Wilkins, Harlequin Digital

We have a great giveaway today for fans of paranormal YA thanks to a generous coworker at Harlequin: all three books in Mara Purnhagen’s Past Midnight trilogy — Past Midnight, One Hundred Candles and Beyond the Grave! The series is about Charlotte Silver, the daughter of famous paranormal investigators with their own TV show. Charlotte doesn’t like to share their exploits–too bad spirits have other plans…

Here’s a description about the first book, Past Midnight:

Let me set the record straight. My name is Charlotte Silver and I’m not one of those paranormal-obsessed freaks you see on TV…no, those would be my parents, who have their own ghost-hunting reality show. And while I’m usually roped into the behind-the-scenes work, it turns out that I haven’t gone unnoticed. Something happened on my parents’ research trip in Charleston—and now I’m being stalked by some truly frightening other beings. Trying to fit into a new school and keeping my parents’ creepy occupation a secret from my friends—and potential boyfriends—is hard enough without having angry spirits whispering in my ear. All I ever wanted was to be normal, but with ghosts of my past and present colliding, now I just want to make it out of high school alive….

  20. I do believe in them.

  21. I’m a firm believer in ghosts. I’ve never seen one, but I’ve had several different times in my life where I felt them. Most of those times have been experiences at key moments of my life, either if great joy or sadness, where I physically and spiritually felt a close family member I’ve lost with me. I didn’t see them but I knew they were there and felt their touch (a hand on a shoulder, a hug, and the like). One time I wasn’t the only one who felt them there, someone else did too.

  22. Yes, definitely!

  23. When my brain is functioning rationally, no, I don’t believe in ghosts; but who’s brain functions rationally at 3AM in the dark, and isn’t that a perfect time for ghosts to show up?

  24. I waver on this one. I believe in things unseen, and a world beyond the parameters of our limited perception. Could human spirits reside there? I think so.

  25. yes I do :)

  26. I don’t believe in ghosts.

  27. I believe in ghosts. They make excellent Scrabble partners, because they’re usually willing to help you peek at your opponent’s tiles.

  28. I believe in ghosts. In my adulthood the ability has faded but as a child I saw spirits frequently. Some left me feeling cold, some were truly terrifying while others felt like echoes of a lost past with no sense of malice at all. I’m sorta glad I don’t see them anymore because more often than not they frightened me.

  29. Tanya Prophet

I absolutely believe in ghosts. :)

  30. Penny Gilman

I definitely believe in ghosts. We often have something weird happen, like the dryer will play a tune (yes it normally does when you open the door) when it hasn’t been used in days, or a door closes and there is no draft. We all feel it’s my mom popping in for a visit just to let us know she is around.

  31. Shannon Webb

Too many unexplained things happen that have to be ghosts

  32. Why not? There are stranger things to believe in. Soyes, I do!

  33. yes i believe in ghosts. love reading about them and watching shows about them

  34. I have never seen a ghost, but I believe they could exist. I really want to read these books. I love the idea of her parents being ghost hunters and noe Charlotte is hearing them. What a great set of stories. Thanks for the chance to win.

  35. My initial response is always no, but when I think about it… I guess I do.

  36. well id like to sy i dont but then i have had some rather weird things that have happened to me..that i cant explain.. maybe ghosts

  37. Lauren Goff

    Yes, definitely!

  38. Honestly I’m not sure. It depends on the day.

  39. Kelly castillo

I do believe in ghost ! I have always wanted to see one

  40. I do not believe in ghosts in real life…however in my fantasy world things like ghosts, werewolves, vampires and gods are all possible!

  41. I’m not sure. I haven’t had any spooky experiences to make me a believer!

  42. Yes, I do believe in ghosts. I think I saw one, an ancestor. It freaked me out that night but in retrospect, it wasn’t scary. I saw her, she disappeared and that was it.

  43. I definitely believe in ghosts, especially since I’ve seen one before. I also hear them from time to time. This is an unfortunate truth.

  44. The giveaway is now closed — Congratulations to the winner of the PAST MIDNIGHT trilogy by random draw: Laura! Please check your email for a message from me.
