From Here to Eternity…In Less than a Heartbeat by Crystal Jordan

What does author Crystal Jordan wish was real from paranormal, cience fiction, and fantasy romance? Teleportation! Find out why in her Paranormal Party post…

There is so much about paranormal, science fiction, and fantasy romance that I wish were true. It’s tough to come up with just one thing. I mean, who doesn’t want a soul mate—a real, honest to goodness person crafted just for you? Also, who doesn’t want magical powers? Maybe you could clean the house with a snap of your fingers. Maybe you could have the ability to shift into a tiger, wolf, lion, or all of the above. The ideas are never ending. And endlessly nifty, I think, but I write in this genre, so I’m admittedly biased.

The one I’d pick is more cool than sexy. I want the magical ability to teleport.

Think about it…I could go from one place to another in the blink of an eye. I’d never have to sit in traffic ever again. I’d never have to shuffle through airport security or be cramped in a winged metal tube hurtling through the air. Can you tell I don’t like airports?

I’d also be able to visit anyone I’d like. I have relatives in England I’d love to see, and I could just pop in for lunch. Literally.

And! AND! I could travel more. See the world. Do a whirlwind tour of the Seven Wonders of the World in seven days or less. Take a wee jaunt up to the North Pole. Party hop from dance clubs in Berlin, Syndey, London, Beijing, New York, and Las Vegas all in the same evening.

Plus, there’s the added benefit of never having to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I could teleport out of the place the moment it seemed wrong time-ish. I’d never have to be or stay anywhere I didn’t want to. I could sleep in my own bed every night if I wanted to, and therefore never get homesick. The possibilities for cool and awesome are simply endless with this one. What if you could also teleport through time? See? Endless amounts of cool!

After teleportation? I’d have to say I’ll take something straight out of Star Trek and wish for a food replicator. I’d never have to pretend I could cook again!

  1. Thanks for having me over to blog, Amy! This was a fun post to write :-)

  2. d00d, I was with you right up to the food replicator and then I thought…mebbe that one FIRST. B/c cooking for my family is just nutty.

However, I’m wth you on the teleporting thing in all sincerity.
“Having lunch with Crys today. Dinner with Patti! Shoot…what DO the pyramids look like? I’ll just nip over and check!”

And no airplanes, which give me panic attacks. As do airports. And heights. And being in set places at set times so I don’t miss anything. *shudder*

However, I have complete faith that you could find a way to make teleportation sexy. And dirty! :-D

  3. Hmm…I think I’d like to be invisible so that I could listen in on everyone’s conversations and not be available when one of my kids wanted a lift somewhere :)

  4. teleport, fly, travel back in time. magically change my shape/eye/hair color at will
Um…I’d like a lot of powers LOL

  5. Tough question! I’d want to be able to fly because it would just be fun! But your teleportation is awesome! I’d love to be able to go anywhere, anytime. But if I’m going to travel, the teleportation MUST include the ability to take luggage with me-you know I can’t do without my 12 pairs of shoes when traveling. But I would love to be able to just flit anywhere to visit friends and still be home in time to have dinner with my b/f.

I think I would like to be able to teleport. It would be great when you needed to get somewhere fast.
