Warning: If you haven’t seen Wolverine yet, there are SPOILERS ahead!

by Lisa Renee Jones, author of Captive of the Beast (Silhouette Nocturne, May 2009) and Demon’s Seduction (Silhouette Nocturne Bites, May 2009)

Hi everyone! What a fun movie month May is! I went to see Wolverine and was blown away for so many reasons. First – well — Hugh Jackman — need I say more? I thought Gambit was awesome as well. But the real BLOW ME AWAY factor from Wolverine was how alike the plot is to Captive of the Beast!

Hot guy that use to be a soldier with strong morals- minus extra hair and claws — CHECK

Heroine who is gifted and protective of a little sister — CHECK

Young kids with special powers being corrupted — CHECK

Island with a military commander gone a bit insane with a big escape from the island plot – CHECK

The similarities were amazing and I felt the timing of my release was incredible! It wasn’t at all planned. We had no idea the stories had these similarities. Of course, the stories are worlds apart in some ways but Captive and Wolverine boil down to fun, neat twists on similar plots. So if you leave Wolverine ready for more — try Captive of the Beast!

Next up for me at the movies is Star Trek! I can’t wait! Tell me what movies you have seen, or plan to see! Did you see Wolverine? Did you love it like I did?

I’ll give away 3 copies of Captive of the Beast from the comments.

  1. Hi Lisa!

I haven’t gotten to go see Wolverine yet. I really liked the other Xmen movies though and I’m told this one is the best yet. PLUS it has Hugh Jackman that alone is selling point enough for me :) .

Captive of the Beast sounds like such an amazing read, I haven’t gotten to get to it yet. It’s in my TBR pile. I am trying to find the rest of your white knight books at present. Demon’s Seduction you have looks like a hot one too!

    Best Wishes!

I just wanted to tell Lisa that I’m not a movie goer. Last movie I went to was National Treasure with Nicholas Cage. But I can’t wait for Captive of The Beast it sounds completely awesome.

    Hi,
I’m trying to remember the last movie my husband and I saw..I think it was Push. Good Sci-fi movie. We do plan on seeing the Star Trek movie this week end on the Big screen. We have both loved the series from the original, to the movies and the next generation. I didn’t really care for Deep Space Nine..not sure why I liked the characters just not the story lines…

I have purchased your latest book and can’t wait to read it…

I haven’t seen Wolverine the movie yet but its one I am dying to see soon. And if Wolverine is similar to whats going on with your new book, well then, I definitely want to read it! I’m a huge fan of yours already but being one of those rare female comic book fans that really likes Wolverine..well I’m on pins and needles now to read Captive of the Beast!

  9. Those movies seem interesting. Too bad I have to wait until I can see them on tv or dvd. By the way, I just saw Hugh Jackman on Jimmy Kimmel talking about the movie. If you want to check it out, you can find it on Youtube.

  10. A comment from Phoebe Jordan:

I saw Wolverine the day after it came out and I loved it but thought it was a bit too short for my taste. I thought it should have been a little bit longer but it cleared so much up for me after enjoying the X-Men trilogy. I also loved Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He is one talented author with a hunk of a body and a lovely accent when he talks. I will definitely putting your novel on my wishlist since it sounds like a great novel that I will enjoy reading.

  11. A comment from Kammie:

I haven’t seen Wolverine yet, although I plan to. I did see Star Trek yesterday and it was awesome! I want to see it again. Great story and characters.

The book sounds AWESOME! I can’t wait to read it! And the cover is very num-num.

  13. Lisa – those are the precise moveies that are currently on my must-see list! My Hugh Jackman crush is getting a little uncontrollable – and I still haven’t seen ‘Australia’ yet!

The cover model on ‘Captive’ has one of the yummiest males I have seen on a cover for a while – it’s definitely going on my TBR…
