Author Lisa Childs introduces you to two extraordinary women from a family where special abilities are bestowed on every other generation — and the sexy, powerful men who love them — in two new books this month: Immortal Bride (Silhouette Nocturne) and Resurrection (Nocturne Bites). Lisa joins us at Harlequin’s Paranormal Blog to tell you more about these hauntingly irresistible stories…

Hi, I’m so excited to guest-blog about my new Nocturnes! Resurrection is a Nocturne Bite and the prequel to my March Silhouette Nocturne release, Immortal Bride Resurrection begins the legend of the Lake of Tears, the setting for both books. The hero of  Resurrection, the Indian warrior, Gray Wolf, is determined to defend his magical land against the invading conquerors he believe killed his woman. He intends to kill their woman. Anya was taken captive by the invaders because she has a special ability to bring the dead back to life, which makes the conquerors invincible. Every other generation of women in Anya’s family are bestowed some special ability. But while Anya can bring others back to life, she can’t resurrect herself. An Indian shaman is aware of her vulnerability, and thus has ordered her death. While Gray accepts the mission, once he touches Anya – and she brings his wounded soul back to life – he falls so deeply in love with her – he is torn between honor and love.

The contemporary hero in Immortal Bride, Damien Wolf, is a descendent of the Gray Wolf warrior. He is a powerful man who is both respected and feared in the community surrounding the Lake of Tears. Yet he has no special abilities beyond his strength, his honor and his capacity for love. Olivia Kingston-Gray is a descendent of Anya, but she was not born of the generation bestowed the special gift. And so she dies, drowned in the Lake of Tears – the body of water formed by the tears of her heartbroken ancestor, Anya. Olivia’s ghost returns for vengeance, and she believes the man who killed her is the only man she ever loved – her husband.

These stories share a common theme of a love so strong that it can endure anything – even death. As both a writer and an avid reader of romance, I loved writing these ultimate love stories. I will admit I was a bit nervous about writing the Bite because it was so short – but Resurrection really wrote itself, telling Anya and Gray Wolf’s love story and setting up the legend for Immortal Bride. Writing Immortal Bride was a bit of a challenge with having a ghost for a heroine, but Damien could see Olivia. She was haunting him, but she was not the only one. Resurrection and Immortal Bride are very connected stories, so I definitely hope readers will pick up both of them. There are many secrets and twists in both, so I don’t want to give away anything else about the plots. I love to surprise readers!

I’ve always been drawn to the supernatural – probably because of my Halloween birthday. I LOVE ghost stories and urban legends – anything to do with witch craft as well. I’ve always been a big fan of Gothic novels and grew up reading Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney. I also loved Anne Rice and Barbara Michaels. Thanks to Silhouette Nocturne, I have so many more authors and books to enjoy!

Happy Reading!
Lisa Childs
