Hello there everyone. I am so glad to be here telling you about my new series for Silhouette Nocturne. I’m thrilled to be writing it.

The series is called “Transitions”. Humans transitioning, or morphing into other, darker things. In this case it’s all about werewolves. There will be five books altogether. Some Bites and some full books.

The storyline that continues throughout all the books is that there is a nasty criminal in Miami who is biting people, some of those people innocent and unsuspecting, and infecting them with a virulent form of an ancient Lycan virus.

Five sets of couples will come into contact with this criminal, in one way or another. And find each other through a transition.

BLACKOUT is the first release, a January 09 Nocturne Bite.
The blurb for it goes like this:

What would a Dade County Deputy D.A. and a female cop rising through the ranks have in common when they meet on a deserted street in Miami, half naked?

In BLACKOUT a genetic werewolf and a newly-bitten female cop meet up on a side street. Under a full moon, the cop, Dana Delmonico, is unknowingly beginning to morph into the new shape she will become. Coming to her rescue is Dylan Landau, Deputy D.A, a genetic werewolf whose ancient family blood goes back to before the Flood.

This Bite is named after the initial phase of a transition, called the “blackout,” where due to the extreme and torturous pain of a human body trying to rewire itself to suit the new beast it will harbor, the infected person blacks out.

I love this pairing of cop and D.A.. Dylan and Dana don’t know each other until this one special night, but their careers follow a similar path, with similar goals of keeping the streets of Miami safe. Not only will they have to deal with their individual reputations, but a whole new layer of relationship that presents itself when both their human sides and their beast sides meet up.
It’s human nature versus animal nature. What could be more interesting or sexy than that?

As for the werewolf thing. . . I just have never been able to write a story that isn’t paranormal in one way to another. My last published book was a historical vampire tale. But in creating characters who are, for all intents and purposes, human most of the time, as werewolves are, there is much more room for conflict and emotion. Writing the werewolf stories to me are like eating chocolate. The darker, the better.

I hope you like BLACKOUT and will want to come along on this ride with me through five books in the series. Please email me through my web site, or the Nocturne Authors website, and let me know.

And stay tuned for WOLF BAIT, the second Nocturne Bite in the series that will be out a month later, in February.

  18. I am so thrilled that you’ve all stopped by to visit.
Even the werewolf queen herself, Kate Douglas… came here to prowl my wolf pack. wow.

SO – I’m pretty speechless, other than to hope you all will like my Nocturnes, share in my successes, and that you realize how special our commuinity of reader, writers, published authors is to me.

And – What do you think of this cover? Pretty darn sexy, huh? When this went to the art department, I must have gotten the luck of the draw. My lucky day, for sure. It’s actually a scene from BLACKOUT. Everything right – hair color, way too sexy man, and a great big moon . . .

You’ll have to excuse me now, I’m getting hot. HA.

  19. Hi Linda,
Sounds like a wonderful series. Good luck!

  20. Hey Linda!

Your new series sounds yummy. Don’t those Nocturne covers keep getting hotter and hotter?

    Best,
    Emily

  21. They certainly do, Emily. We all have these images in mind for our characters, and the actual cover we end up with can be a real surprise, for good or ill. Right? But for h-o-t, Nocturnes have it down. And I have to tell you that I love writing these BITES. The pacing can race, just like your heart, all the way through the pages. I’m a definite fan of “action,” so this is my opportunity to fly…

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate each and every comment that comes my way.
